Description:

A 7.3 magnitude earthquake has struck the Pacific Island nation of Tonga overnight. Local residents have been told to move inland and seek higher ground. There were concerns the quake could trigger a tsunami similar to the one in January earlier this year, which was caused by a volcanic eruption in the region. However, the US Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre says any danger of a tsunami has passed.  11-11-2022
